If you need to wash it you should first soak it in warm water (no higher than 30°) adding soap, shampoo or detergent (depends on how dirty the vest is), then let it soak for 5-10 minutes then wipe dirty areas and twist it.
After all, hang it to the drying rack, let it dry for 30 minutes and after 30 minutes you can go on drying it.
